Hans Christian Andersen
I just picked up this 1942 version of Andersen’s Fairy Tales at the local Goodwill.

I had to share some pictures from it.

The illustrations are just great, aren’t they? Those colors and everything. This man is a bit intimidating.

And the emperor, wearing his imaginary clothes:

I just rediscovered a book of children’s piano music from the 40s? 50s? not sure what era, and I’ll try to take some pictures of them soon. I love looking at these old illustrations, they’re so inspiring to me. Oh and I’ve just got to hem up and put a zipper in a new dress then post about it, so back to showing sewn things soon.

WOW…I grew up with Hans Christian Anderson stories being read and recited to myself and my siblings…having grown up with parents who are Danish and Swedish…what a find!
That’s great.
