Summer Apron
Thanks for the ideas regarding the Hawaiian floral! It’s given me a few ideas :)

The other day I whipped up this apron out of fabric remnants. You’ll recognize the blue linen as from the tank top I recently made. It came together nicely, perhaps too much, as I don’t want to get it dirty!

I like the little bow in the front.

Maybe I’ll just wear it when I’m cleaning dishes, not working with things that stain, like berries. Are you like that? Make something functional, but you love it so you don’t want to actually use it?

Nice! I recognize the fear of using something pretty because it could be ruined. But I try not to let that effect me. I just wear all the pretty things every day and keep telling myself that I better enjoy them than having them hang in the closet, waiting for a special day that may be rare and far away. And if something gets stained (which happens easily with three little ones in the house and in my arms)I just remember that I have a washing machine. And if all of that fails, I’ll just have an excuse to make something new and even prettier ;-)

That’s a really good way of looking at it. I have that view towards my vintage linens, but haven’t taken it towards the things I make. You’re right about enjoying something more by using it rather than having it hanging in the closet! I’m going to try to remember what you said :)
