New To-Create List

pink stuff for quilt

I love making lists, don’t you? I never stick with them, but they make me feel organized. So I guess what I’m saying is that I love the way lists make me feel. I’m a cheater when it comes to making them because I always include things I either already did or would normally do, like take a shower or get dressed. Scratching those off right away creates that priceless feeling of accomplishment: hey! I did something I needed to do!

sketches

A few weeks ago I wrote about some things I needed to do: make my mom’s shirt, my sister’s dress, and a pair of socks. I scrapped the socks. Thanks to Elizabeth Zimmerman, I’m going to make a sweater. Maybe.

These days I’ve been pretty busy and haven’t had much time for sewing any new clothes. Instead, I’ve been making a little time every day to work on this slightly smaller than twin size quilt.

That pink ensemble up at the top of the post is going to be a quilt as well. The sheet and linen fabric were thrifted. It’s going to be pretty plain, flowers on one side, pink on the other. I want to create a collection of quilts to have around for our long cold months. So I’ve got some quilts to create, and maybe realize my sketches with my growing fabric stash.
