Party Time!

flowers

My friend Liza and I had a shared birthday party since our birthdays are pretty close together. It was a small-ish affair at my house. I made a few decorations and scoured thrift stores for cake stands, in one instance I just put a pretty plate on top of a opalescent ramekin. The flowers were from Trader Joe’s, but I added popcorn flowers and rosemary and some others from my yard. Liza made a delicious pumpkin cheesecake and rustic cranberry upside down cake. I made little vanilla cakes with chocolate icing and some chocolate chip cookies. Chris baked the cookies and put salt on them (they are like eating potato chips — you can’t just eat one!) as well as making a delicious tirimisu. Guests were invited to bring their favorite drinks, and we had quite an assortment! We had some little food gift boxes hanging around so I pulled those out and pretty much forced people to take desserts home with them. I still have a little cake and a whole tirimisu pie left over. And I slept passed my yoga class this morning. For shame! Anyways, here are the photos:

Oh! And these are the two tutorials I used for my garlands: cupcake wrapper and fabric pompoms.
