The Story Girl

Moebius Cowl

side

I made this Moebius cowl some time ago but neglected to post finished pictures. I used the “pattern” from Elizabeth Zimmerman’s Knitting Around. I say pattern with quotations because EZ really lets you make things up using just a little bit of guidance. This was knit flat (two needles) tho I think that I could knit it in the round, keeping the stitches twisted next time.

I really love Plymouth Galway worsted wool, and used it for this. It’s a bit itchy, tho, not good for right next to the face. Thankfully this is loose and warm and not itching me.

On New Year’s Day, I managed to read all of Knitting Around and my love for EZ grew exponentially. She had a real gift for telling a story and being accessible. If you’re a knitter and want to learn from a lovely lady, check out her books. Knitting Without Tears was her first book and is chock full of good information and a delightful read. I don’t read technical things easily, and this didn’t feel technical at all which is a big deal!

p.s. I made that top you can’t see so well in the photos. I’ve been doing quite a bit of yoga and have been inspired to make some yoga clothes. If it keeps being sunny, I’ll take more pictures and sew more. The sun has been great getting me back into sewing. Once it disappears again, I’ll probably just be knitting. Especially since I may soon be knitting my first sweater!
